The law category of HUST has witnessed the stable development of such mainstay discipline fields of prominent edge as legal history, jurisprudence, constitutional law and administrative law, civil and commercial law, intellectual property right law, environment and resource law and etc, as well as other specialized fields including law of science and technology that are in conformity with the economic and social dynamics of China. In this regard, deeply integrated with HUST's strength on science and technology, engineering, medicine, and management disciplines, our School has developed the emerging inter-disciplines of health law, ethics and law of life science and technology, Al and law, the law on cyberspace security, financial innovation, etc. The legal history discipline at HUST ,taking pride in China’s legal history, has topped the Chinese list in terms of collation and researches of history materials, and transformation of modern Chinese laws. As a pioneering force, the School's I PR discipline has always stood at the academic frontier and taken the lead in achieving the internationalization of its faculty and talent cultivation, which has created the distinctive inter-disciplines with positive social influence. The Law School now offers secondary discipline program of professional doctoral degree on legal sociology, Marxist jurisprudence, and primary discipline program of master of laws, eight secondary discipline programs for master degrees on legal theory, legal history, constitutional law and administrative law, criminal law, civil and commercial law, science and technology law and intellectual property law, economic law, as well as environment and resource protection law. Faculty

The Law School is staffed by more than 70 part-time and full-time teachers, including more than 20 professors, 20 PhD tutors, and 30 associate professors. More than half of its faculty have overseas experience at Oxford University of the United Kingdom, Max Planck Institute of Germany, Polytech Paris-Sud of France or other foreign universities and institutes. There are 85% of faculty who have an educational background at Peking University, Tsinghua University, Renmin University of China, China University of Political Science and Law, Wuhan University and other prestigious universities, and 93% have a PhD degree or are currently PhD candidates. International

The Law School of HUST attaches great importance to international exchanges and cooperation, thus forming a primary global network for academic collaboration and talent training. Twenty teachers have been consecutively sent to prestigious institutions of higher learning in Germany, France, America, Japan, Australia, and other countries, working collaboratively with foreign experts in projects and research, which has made substantial progress in international academic exchanges. Moreover, among the student community, more than 100 graduated students have pursued further studies at Oxford University, Harvard University, Columbia University, University of California Berkeley, University of Missouri, University of Munich, University of Bayreuth, Queensland University of Technology and other famous international universities and colleges. Long-standing friendly partnerships have been formed with WIPO, GWP, international organizations and academic institutes in the US, the UK, Germany, France, Australia, Japan, Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and other countries and regions. The School designates and subsidizes students to visit world-renowned universities and colleges regularly, and, in turn, receives a host of international students to study at HUST. Experts and professors from esteemed universities at home and abroad are invited regularly to attend ' academic lectures and short-term teaching programs.
