The Law School of Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST) is one of the earliest law schools and departments established at the beginning of the reform and opening-up. Through scientific positioning and key construction, with the concerted efforts of all faculty and staff, we have gradually achieved high-quality leapfrog development with amazing speed in less than 50 years. Currently we have established a legal education system covering undergraduate education, master education and doctor education.

While comprehensively developing first-level disciplines, we have accomplished the crossing of law with HUST's superior and key disciplines such as engineering, medicine and arts, established over 20 research centers and bases, gradually developed certain features in fields such as theoretical jurisprudence, legislative science, development and human rights law, science and technology law and intellectual property law, medical law, AI and computing law, achieved some high-quality innovative research findings, earned recognition from international and domestic academic circles. Now we play a significant role in supporting legal China building, and serving the national strategy of legislation, law enforcement and judicial development.

We have established friendly cooperation relations with top European, American, Japanese and Australian universities like University of Oxford and University of California, kept strengthening cooperation with them and achieved significant results in visits and lectures, degree education and scientific research. Our graduates have been recruited by world top universities like University of Oxford and Columbia University for high-level degrees, and served as senior executives at world top law firms and companies. Their research findings have been adopted by the United Nations and other international organizations. They have offered advice and suggestions on the reform and optimization of the global governance system, earning good international reputation.
